PixelScape

From PokeResort ★ WIKI |

PixelScape is a unique MMO-like system consisting of 18 skills, inspired by the famous MMORPG videogame, Runescape, but deeply integrated with Pixelmon itself. With this system, you will find skills that are organically unlocked and trained as you complete various common activities throughout the game. PixelScape also consists of two secondary components: the automatic reward system and the passive/active abilities that can be triggered within each skill.

General

The PixelScape Menu, containing the 18 skills and the achievement of the mastery (or not).

Currently, PixelScape has 18 skills, each one of them ranging from level 1 to level 99. In order to level up, you need to complete activities and actions strictly related to them, getting a certain amount of experience every time you successfully do so. The experience that is required to level up increases as you level up, so while it might be easy to level up at the beginning, you will find yourself investing more time on the last ones. Once you have reached the maximum level on any of the skills, you will receive a distinctive badge that will certify your mastery on that specific skill, along with a prize of $5,000 ResortCASH.

Another thing to bear in mind is that, besides the reward system and the passive/active abilities of each skill, there is also a leaderboard system, both for individual skills and for the global sum of levels and experience from all of them. This is the reason why, even though the maximum level is set to 99, the amount of experience is infinite, so the leaderboards remain alive and dynamically moving (otherwise, we would have many players tied for the first place).

Commands

  • To check your personal statistics (information for each skill, your level and your ranking for each of them), you can use the command /pixelscape or /mmo.
  • To check the leaderboards both individual and global, you can use the command /lb.

Actions

In order to gain experience and level up your skills, you will need to perform certain specific actions related to them, organized in the following table:

Skill Actions
Agility Walk, run, fly or mount your Pokémon.
Breeding Breed your Pokémon and collect their eggs.
Catching Catch any wild Pokémon successfully.
Combat Earn experience for any of your Pokémon in battle
Construction Place Pixelmon decorative blocks (umbrellas, tables, chairs…) or utility blocks (machines).
Crafting Create any type of Poké Ball combining your bases, buttons and lids.
Duelist Win player-versus-player battles.
Excavation Destroy earth-type blocks (gravel, sand, dirt, grass…).
Farming Harvest apricorns and berries.
Fishing Pull up items and Pokémon with your rod successfully.
Herblore Use medicine and potions on your Pokémon (inside or outside a battle).
Hunter Catch any wild shiny, legendary or ultra beast Pokémon or use the Hunt system (catch the Pokémon listed there with the required feature; use the /hunt command for more information).
Looting Collect visible and hidden PokéLoot in the wild.
Mining Destroy ore blocks (iron, gold, crystal, quartz…).
Research Use fossil, cleaning or cloning machines.
Slayer Defeat any wild boss, shiny, legendary or ultra beast Pokémon.
Smithing Smelt ores or craft tools, armor and Poké Ball parts (using a hammer and the Pixelmon anvil).
Woodcutting Destroy tree-type blocks (logs and leaves).

Passive/active abilities

One of the main features of the PixelScape skill system are the beneficious effects and abilities that is possible to trigger through the completion of the actions and activities listed above. Some of them are passive, meaning that they will trigger randomly, and some of them are active, meaning that you will need to perform a simple combination of keys in order to trigger them when you need them.

For any type of ability in any skill, the unlocking condition is reaching level 5, and every single one of them will continue to improve upon leveling up, with a maximum chance of triggering and minimum cooldown between uses at level 99.

  • For passive abilities, the starting chance is 5%, and the maximum possible chance is 25%.
  • For active abilities, the starting cooldown between uses is 30 minutes, and the minimum possible is 5 minutes.

Below you will find the abilities for each skill and the mechanism to trigger it.

As it was stated in previous paragraphs, PixelScape also has a leaderboard feature, composed of the global one (that takes into account the levels and experience from the 18 skills, displaying the totals in a ranking) and the individual one for each skill, both specific to each server (OASIS, BREEZE and SUNSET).

Trivia

  • Before PixelScape was implemented, PokeResort used to have another MMO system of 10 skills (Apricorn, Battling, Breeding, Catching, Crafting, Excavation, Farming, Fishing, Mining and Woodcutting) with different rewards, some of them being custom items that are no longer available (except for the Unbreakable Elytra, which is shared between both and can only be claimed once per player).
